Hello all! I have been drawing again and it makes me feel WONDERFUL!! Some coworkers and I are working on a 'gallery project'. We are each designing a planet with a minimum of 4 vignette illustrations to support it. The art work that my friends are producing is amazing. We all have different styles, so the variety the show will provide should be really great. When finished we are going to submit it to some local galleries, hopefully someone will pick it up. Hey so if ya know anyone let me know!

Here are my concept sketches for my illustrations.
They are going to be character/figure driven. And each represents a different element, I call them "The Daughters of Nature" ©.

I will go into more detail later. It's 1:00am and I need to get up in about four hours. :P

Christmas Time is here

Originally uploaded by
I love Christmas. I am such the dork when it comes to it. I keep KOST as a station preset on my car radio all year just for this time of year. And now the fish 95.9 plays nothing but Christmas music until Christmas too, so if I don’t like one song I move on to the next station.

Anyways is finally sort of cold here in Southern California. It was a
chilling 52 (read semi-sarcastic tone here, b/c that’s is cold fo So Cal, but not very cold compared to other places) degrees this morning on my way to work. I was loving it, i was driving down the 5 with my windows down. Scarf and hobo gloves on (not my hands or gloves just random google image).

Well I am done with my break, back to work Frankie.

It's Friday . . .again.

Originally uploaded by
I’m so emo now… haha. Wanna know why? Oh because Fridays are even a let down now.
Because a few months ago I realized that I live from Friday to Friday. I hate that . It’s my own fault letting the week days melt away. I am afraid that when I look back, years from now, to this point of my life all I will remember will be the occasional Friday and a stream Saturdays and Sundays. I think traffic has a lot to do with this cuz I hate it. Weather I sit in it or avoid it, it still has an effect on me. Basically I just need to draw more.

But when ever I get too down I like to look at things like
this. And it puts a smile on my face every time! I guess I cant be that emo if silly cat pictures can make my day.

Oh I know! I know!!

I know what is different about my life. And why I have been feeling the way I do. Well I know i needed to finish high school and new greater things were before me. College was awesome because I was studying my ambition (you can't get anymore self-serving than that :D ), and while at church I was serving and knew it was where the Lord wanted me.
This is the first time in my life that I have been doing something out of pure obligation. It isn't hampered with cause or purpose, I do it because I am there and I must. I have to admit I am not used to it. And I expect I need to grow used to it. I don't mean to complain, I am truly blessed and there are worse things out there. Its just that I had, well I suppose it had my self a little epiphany.

When this drawing becomes a reality John, you

Fowl Mouthed Punk

Originally uploaded by
I was reading at a Starbucaks two week ago reading a report for work and taking some notes when A man comes enters the cafĂ©. He was either in his early 30’s or was a leathery-faced late 20-something. He was dressed all “grunge-punk” (quotes are there b/c I prolly don’t know what I am talking about), and had the mannerisms and vocabulary of a cracked-out whore. The first word and every other word following was “F” this and “F” that and so then “F” and don’t forget “F”, oh and did I mention “F”. Lets not forget that he was loud, it got to the point where the barista asked him to watch his language, and he apologized. Long story short this man who my first impression of was a cracked out hard-arsed numb to the world delinquent, turned out to be a relatively nice guy, at least from my indifferent third person point of view. From what I could tell he was just aching to just talk to someone about his demons and struggles, to be around people who accept him and understand him. Basically he was looking lose himself in a love that the street cannot provide.

My heart went out to him. It makes me wonder what’s his story.

Happy Halloween everybody!

I hope you dressed up, if you didn’t I will have you know your imagination is probably dead, and I will morn for it. Okay I am just kidding. But it is beyond me why anyone would miss this opportunity the one day a year you can dress like anything or anyone you want without any second glances and/or stares. And if someone does stare or steel a second glance it’s the one time that it is most likely a compliment! :)

Oh! Do I have a Halloween story for you guys. But I don’t have the time to get into it just yet, so remind me later. Okay?

Everyone have a safe and fun Halloween.

I’m outtie!!!

P.S. This one is animated.

PotterCast, the Harry Potter podcast: Celebrity interviews, theories, discussion and more from the Leaky Cauldron

- - --- My PotterCast Blog --- - -

Anyone who knows me knows that anything Harry Potter related cause my ear to perk up and turn my head. And when is it done with high standards and quality, all the better! That said I was very happy to find PotterCast this past year on iTunes. Confession; I first listened to MuggleCast and got plugged in to PotterCast when Melissa made a cameo on the afore mentions PodCast. Then I listened to all the the PotterCasts that I had missed. I was an instant fan. And nothing against the "other" PodCast it was nice to see other people my age who are in college full-time, hold down full time jobs, developing careers and are still enthusiastic about the Potter franchise. This kinship of spirt and interests is what hooked, but what makes me come back each week is the awesome content. Very interesting interviews with fans, actors from the movies, people involved with the books development, and even the people who develop the video games as well! And not to mention the subtle humor that pops up every now and again.

It has made my Mondays much brighter. And my work week all the more enjoyable! I am posting to just rant and rave on how much I love the show!

Below is a brief description of the hosts (illustrated above as the Trio by
me ::blush::)

Melissa Skeeter

Heads the brunt of the site (the site being The-Leaky-Cauldron) and is a journalist based in New York. She has a new kitten, and is no way sneaky or mean like Rita Skeeter. I used that character for her because they are both journalists. And I am sure Melissa wouldn't mind trying out a quick quotes quill. :P

John & John Weasley

John is the life of the party so to speak, much like the Weasley twins, hence his picture; he is funny and silly. Like the twins, at first glance they seem to be all about the laughs, but when you look closer you come to find out they have some impressive skills and a bit of intelligence. And come on, who couldn't like someone who is a fan of Arrested Development?

Sue Diggory

Sue is the heart of the group, a true Hufflepuff is there ever was one! That is why she is Sue Diggory, in honor of the late and great Cedric. Sue is always there to get excited about the fun stuff and has supportive things to say even when giving a critique.
And if you didn't notice on her robes up top you might notice a Head Girl badge, thats right Sue you are head girl of Hufflepuff! SQUEEEE!

Life Drawing & Ursulphaba

I am loving my life drawing class. It is so nice to draw the figure from real life and not out of my head. I forgot the subtle nuances the human figure provides. And the interesting similarities that the silhouette and foreshortening have, even thought technically they should really be a stark of each other.

After the bordem kicked into 4th gear.

And to top it off a hybrid drawing of Elphaba and Ursula; Ursulphaba

Ahhhh... (deep breath)

I have finally gotten around to posting. Sorry. Not that I have a huge following or anything. I guess I am apologising to myself. LOL Any who. I am not taking a night class on Tuesdays and Thursday at OCC with some of my best friends from work. They are a hoot and ahalf.

It is so refreshing to draw from the figure again. My my mind stop hurting. Its... freeing. The one bad thing is the professor is teaching the class like we are straight out of Jr. High, so it lags here and there. And he seems to be a bit passive aggressive. Which we all know is a wonderful trait to have n an instructor. But I get to draw, and drawing is what it is; beautiful.

Here are sketches form the sketch book I am keeping for that class. I will take some pictures of the larger drawings later.
Okay all! Thanxs for stopping by.

You might notice a little of my pet interests in there; Harry Potter, Starbucks, Wicked, Comic Books, and Fairies.

Israel Sketch Book

Okay I went to Israel like 4 months ago and I am finally posting my sketches. While in Israel I journaled my journey with drawings. I mainly drew and doodled on site, which I normally don't do, so it was a nice change of pace for me. I managed to fill up half of my little sketch book during the 10 days I was there. Here are the highlights.
