Hey all, its been over a month since I last updated (I did cheat and past date the christmas one, but that was for my own purposes so when I look back on 2009). I am not one for resolutions, and I am not proud of how I just dropped the ball on my blog in 2009. It was a very interesting year, in fact the last 2 years have been very interesting. I bring that up to say that I am going to me making a real effort to make my blog part of my life again. I really love doing it, and I is a shame I just let it go. I am even contemplating doing a project on my blog to help keep me accountable. I may do left handed experiment. But if I decide that is something I can commit to I wont start that until my blogs 4th Birthday on January 31, 2010. Any ways for lack of knowing a better way of starting this blog back up I am just going to jump right in. Enjoy!
New York January 8, 2010 - January 13, 2010
Day One, Friday January 8, 2010
John Bre and I landed at JFK at 3:45pm NY time. Melissa was nice enough to pick us up from the airport. We went back to her place where Josh made chille. By 6:45pm we were sitting around the apartment, and I lured a group of us out into the city
And so began our first night out in the Big Apple.
We got coffee and I tried on a hat. :P
Then we met up with my friends from back home Kristen, Melinda, and Natalie. They had the wonderful idea of going to see the Upright Citizens Brigade. T'was fun!
And then when I got back to Melissa's Bre let me take a funny Picture of her.
When we got into the city we needed to look at clothes. But not before we got coffee, where better to get coffee? Dean and Delucca. Bre got coco, John espresso, and I was feeling a cup of joe with a plain scone. When we went out side to look at the Ice skaters we were warmly and bravely, I might add, greeted by this little dude. He was a cute little bird that wanted some crumbs of my scone, so I obliged him.
It was fun.
I got up "early" and met Natalie, Kristen, Brigid and Melinda at The Brooklyn Tabernacle for the noon service. It was powerful the spirt is moving there, i'll post my notes from it soon, (yeah that right Church Notes are coming back!! :D). Then the 5 of us got brunch. I took pics while we waited to be seated.
Then we walked to the brooklyn bridge, this area here is refereed to as DUMBO [Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass] :P
We then got coffee and went back and passed a really cool church on out way to Natalie's apartment. I loved it! So cool, like out of a movie it had brick exposed walls! We then proceeded to have a little dance party on the terrace. Then I left the girls and when back to M's to play Super Mario Brothers Wii with John and Bre! (yeah that rhymed)
I was supposed to wake up with others and head out to the park early to ice skate and then hit up the MET, but that didn't work out too well. But I did get to meet up with Melinda, Kristen, and Natalie one last time before Melinda and Kristen had to go back home. We played int he park and took pictures. And I was told that it is not nice to tell a woman to "Shut up...", even when it is clearly a joke. Thanks ladies...
Met up with Lizzie and the gang after I said my good byes to Melinda, Natalie, and Kristen. We got lunch at a cool little diner before we headed over to the MET , where I got a feta cheese burger.
Lizzie's coco looked wonderful. :)

And then to my disappointment and dismay the MET was closed on Mondays. I was bummed, but we made the best of it we walked across the park to the Upper West Side.
It was a beautiful walk. :)
When we got to the Upper West Side I went to an art store and got some supplies to make Melissa's birthday present. :)

Day Five, Tuesday January 12, 2010
I was determined to get up early and go to the MET, it was my last full day in New York. Melissa was kind enough to join me. :)

And so the fun began! I took so many pics, here are a "few" that I really enjoyed.
This is painting by one of my favorites painters, John Singer Sargent. I got to see 4 originals of his. So so so AWESOME!
...went with me to Riverside Park. I wanted to see if I recognized any You've Got Mail stuff, but alas I did not. But there is always next time :)
After we finished exploring Riverside Park we headed out to Melissa's parents house for dinner. Where her mother made us a wonderful dinner, I had my first lobster! After dinner we went back to M's and I finished the painting, and didn't go to sleep.
Day 6, Wednesday January 13, 2010
I went home. :( My flight was at 7:00am
I almost missed my flight, at one point I was running down the terminal with no shoes on while hearing them announce my name on the PA. And I had a four hour layover in SF :/
