Scary Dream

Last night I was hanging out with my roomates and our friend Matt. Our conversation wondered to the shooting at V Tech on April 16, 2007 and just murder in general. And what it takes for someone to get to that point. And that is the only logical reason I can come up with to explain the dream I had last night, and even then it dosent make much sense. But it scares me that I would come up with stuff like this on my own... :(

Drawing #1 Drawing #2

Okay the dream opens with me in a house chasing someone. My brother Brandon and my roomate Ryan were there with me. It was very dark and we were chasing a zombie of sorts, weaving and winding through the house. I lead him to a door way where I somehow knew (dream logic) that my brother or Ryan (cant recall who) would be waiting on the other side of the door. The door opens and Brandon/Ryan was there with this massive saw-blade-gun (see drawing #1). He runs the gun through the Zombie into me! I protest, and he replies, "It's okay don't worry about it". When the zombie is dead I am left with 3 massive cuts (see attached drawing #2). The statement that, "It's okay" somehow brings me comfort and is all the reason I need to know why this mortal wound is not killing me.

Now I am covered in blood and need a shower. And I am apparently in my parents house because on my way to the shower I go through their bedroom into their bathroom. I then decide not to take a shower in there b/c I don't want to wake them up. I don't want to worry them about my massive dripping wounds. So I go outside to the shower and bath in the garden(WTEff?). We have a HUGE yard with hedges and such, and I can see the street far off into the distance, so I don't want to shower in the open so I opt for the bath.

Around now the panic sets in. Not that I am going to die, but that the nerves in my right arm might be severed. Which then would mean that I couldn't draw anymore. This thought coupled with the gory situation and being covered in blood finally starts to pull me out of sleep. My waking up process was so slow that I didn't realize it was all a dream until I was almost sitting up in bed (at 5:30am). Normally things of this nature are so obserd that I know its fake. But this was so real to me that I woke up from it in a slow panic.

P.s. I drew this for Ian's (my other roomate) Birhtday.
He likes Rosters and Warriors. :Þ

SONORUS 2007!

Finally a Harry Potter Conference in southern California!
Join us for a day of magical HP madness. There are going to be fancy speakers, like Steve Vander Ark from the HP Lexicon. And awesome vendors, such as me, selling stuff like drawings and wands form the awesome shop Whimsic Alley in Santa Monica, California. And to top it off the day will end with a feast! An authentic British dinner prepared by the actual house elves from Hogwarts!! WHAT!? You think i am lying? I am not!! I think you had better come and check it out for yourself, and then you come find me to apologize.

Happy the Easter to all!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday and took some time to realize why we celebrate "Easter". Despite the over commercialization of the Easter Bunny, and the somewhat-adopted and semi-mingled pagan practices thanks to Constantine's actions circa ad.313 (ish). Today we celebrate that Jesus did die on the cross for us, and that he rose from the grave, cementing his title as the Christ. All the reasons and arguments you may have with this as a "Christian" holiday or not, the fact remains that many people are much more open to hear and discuss spiritual topics on days such as this. And weather its on the right day of our calander or the Roman calander, or if it should or shouldn't line up with Passover. As long as you are celebrating Christs love and sacrifice with the right heart and intentions I think you're safe. Remember that Christ looks at the heart, and that applies to the evil intentions as well as the good ones.

Comic Pages 1-3

Here are some comic pages that I am working on. I am pretty proud of these, except the last 3 panels (which I eventually plan on redoing). I did these pages over the course of a day and a half. About 20 hours into it, I have to admit, that I lost a little steam. It was very humbling for me to experience that, I got to a point where I wanted to leave it for a few hours, maybe even a day. I would eventually like to work in comics as penciler, it was good for me to experience this brick wall, took some of the glamor out of it. It is hard work. But I knew I couldn't stop! I had a deadline! And these pages were for a meeting with Darkhorse Comics! I have to do this!! So after 22 hours and three crappy panels later I finished. "Wow..." I thought to myself, " I was able to get it done, and on time." I even did another page the following evening after work.

If this gets picked up (70% chance that it will!!) I am going to have to dedicate like a whole sketchbook to guitars and other instruments. I don't know how to draw them so well. :)

Dæmon

Here are some doodles from a book I am currently reading.
Ask me when I am done if I care for it or not.

The story is taking some turns that I am not too fond of.
But the concept is a lot of fun.

Here is a witch and her dæmon, a grey goose.

and here is the protagonist
with her dæmon in the form of a cat.

Latté in the Park

It kind of sounds like a title to a Meg Ryan movie huh?

I had the most relaxing day today. There is a park that I having driving by almost everyday since I moved into my new place, and every time I pass it I say to my self, "self... lets go to that park." So today I finally did. Its in this little valley thing behind a little strip mall and below street level, so its nicely tucked away. When you drive by you can only a little slice of it for a few seconds due to the amount of foliage and because its in that little valley. I got on my bike and I rode down there. While there I enjoyed my lunch under a tree [while having some pellegrino as well] and read my Bible. It was beautiful. If you haven't made time to sit under a tree and just relax do it. I was able to just take it the whole park in. There were birds singing and hopping about, butterflies wafting in the gentle breeze, ducks waddling in the grass, and squirrels running a muck.

And the best part is about my latté. I got too hot riding my bike to enjoy it, so I just wrote it off and figured I would drink it later. But after sitting and eating lunch in the shade the breeze picked up and the clouds masked the sky and lo and behold I got chilly! So after enjoying a sunny ride in the park with a cool breeze I also got to enjoy my warm latté while reading under a tree. God hooked me up today! To quote U2, "...it was a beautiful day..."
